Founded by Lisa Anderson Hill, Walnut1 Design draws inspiration from Lisa’s grandmother whose artistic career began after raising her two daughters. With her own two daughters in college Lisa recently returned to her creative roots.

The memories of time spent working on art projects in Ama’s painting room are vivid — palettes covered in oil paint, mustard jars filled with colorful pens, brushes and palette knives, boxes of French ribbons, her unique handwriting, warm encouragement and impeccable taste. The name Walnut1 pays homage to the house on Union Street as well as the old telephone number prefix from the rotary phone.

After over 30 years in marketing and communications for global consumer brands, Lisa is getting back to her love for design and making in this next chapter — looking forward to embracing the creative process and seeing what unfolds.
